Addition, Alteration, or Improvement (AAI Form is at the bottom of this page)
| The Declaration states that a unit owner must obtain approval prior to any addition, alteration, or improvement to any unit, lot unit, or limited common element. A Standards Committee oversees the process for requesting and gaining approval for a property change. The Standards Committee reviews and approves or disapproves all AAI forms submitted to the property management company.
The AAI Form is the document needed for a unit owner to implement a request. Please note: the process begins with you making the request to the property management company and it does not end until YOU have notified the property management company that the project is complete AND until you have received a Closing/Compliance letter from the property management company. The foremost reason that AAIs are delayed is that the form is not submitted with the required documentation such as insurance, workman's comp certificate, required color details, etc. The requirements are on the form. It is your responsibility to be sure you have submitted the AAI, along with any necessary documents such as a building permit or contractor's proof of insurance if applicable, received approval, notified Elite when the project is complete, and it is your responsibility to be sure you have received that Closing/Compliance letter. Why? Because should you sell your unit, it is your responsibility to provide any buyer with that documentation. The AAI form is the first download at the bottom of this page. Read the AAI form carefully. Complete the form and supply all the required information. Send the form to Elite. Processing may take up to 30 days or longer in certain circumstances. Remember that you must submit a AAI for Additions, Alterations, or Improvements as specified by the Declaration and the Rules before any work begins or fines may be imposed. You may also be required to reverse the change and return the unit to its original state. The Standards Committee |
